More than just a job

IT has been a passion of mine for just about all of my life. I’ve always been interested in both Systems and Networks, so I’ve decided to maintain my expertise in both. Usually its one or the other, but in order to stand out you must be extraordinary.

My career has seen many different industries such as DoD, medical, finance, and hospitality. Having worked with many technologies from Windows to Linux, VMWare to Hyper-V, Cisco to Palo Alto, and countless others provided me with the knowledge and experience to provide accurate and confident expertise. While using these products and technologies I’ve worked on projects as small as server OS upgrades, to installing new Dell VxRail infrastructure and Cisco network redesigns.

Having worked on many projects means i’ve worked with many different kinds of people, from the pushy project manager to the demanding stakeholder. Being able to interact politely and effectively is an absolute must. You can be the smartest person in the room, but if nobody wants to work with you what’s the point?

What makes you stand out?

My passion for IT is the foundation of what makes me different. It drives me to discover new technologies and develop creative solutions to solve problems of all shapes and sizes. You’ll never see me shy away from an opportunity to improve a process or solve a problem.

Through my experiences , I’ve gained the confidence to provide expert guidance to my team and drive projects ahead. What does this mean? When the ball is in our court, the team isn’t waiting on us to pass the ball.

Communicating with people is critical in any organization. I am able to create meaningful relationships with everyone from the janitor to the CEO. Not only does this facilitate smoother workflow, it elevates the culture of the organization as a whole.

Continuous Improvement

As mentioned before, its more than just a job for me. In order to keep my skills sharp and learn new technologies, I maintain hardware in a collocation that I use as a lab. In this lab I run a full hosting infrastructure for web, email, game servers, vpn, and personal projects. These projects can be anything from testing a trial version of a product we might use at work, to building home automation using python. Check out my Projects page for more.
